I grew up in Asheboro, North Carolina. As a kid, in the late 60’s and 70’s, I constantly listened to radio, 45’s and LP’s.   Music was a big part of my early years.  In my late teen years, I became an avid concertgoer.  Memories that are foremost in my mind are the moments when the performing artist came onstage with an acoustic guitar, and connected with the crowd in a personal way… as if we were sitting at home in their living room, just the artist and myself. I always came away from those concerts feeling invigorated and alive, like I had just experienced a moment in musical history that I could never share with another soul who had not attended the show.

I have been playing guitar since the age of 14, learning from a variety of guitar-based bands.  The Beatles, James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Simon & Garfunkel, America, Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Phil Keaggy, and Jack Johnson are just a few of the many artists who influenced my playing style. Since then, I have found a niche in the Charlotte musical entertainment market by playing my favorite songs - a list which has become very extensive and eclectic in range.  So many times I will hear the comment, “Wow…you have all my favorite songs on this list!”  I love keeping the spirit of these songs fresh and alive, and something always happens whenever I connect with people who are listening.
                               
It becomes an experience… 

At each of my engagements, it is my desire to create the kind of atmosphere that best suits the particular setting and crowd.  I can promote any ambiance, from a quiet dinner mood to a lively, danceable party.   Very often this can progress from one to the other in the course of an evening.

Although a solo performer, I incorporate the use of a drum machine, which, along with my acoustic guitar, I connect to a looping machine which records whatever I am playing at the time and plays it back as a "loop".  This layering process enables me to build a rhythm background complete with drums, over which I can play alternate guitar parts, lead solos, etc., giving me more of a band feel!  I have a lot of fun with it!

I have been performing professionally in the Charlotte area now for over ten years, at various functions, including private parties, business luncheons, cocktail hours, wedding rehearsal/receptions, pool parties, outdoor barbecues, holiday events, etc.  I look forward to hearing from you!
